Beat the Sneak
Good morning, good day, good weekend, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing! You find yer boy and the end of an incredibly hectic fortnight, having somehow fooled himself into writing for this here website every day for two weeks straight. Such is the lot of a game jurnalizt when the fateful month of June comes around. Still, ’tis Saturday, and I such I hope to find myself doing no work whatsoever — at least that’s the plan, I do enjoy talking about Street Fighter 6.
I hope that you have a pretty empty weekend ahead, or, if it is full, that it is full of joyful, fun, and exciting escapades. If you’re working, don’t sweat it, just make sure to really capitalize on the free time that you do have, and fill it with things that keep you happy, engaged, and/or well rested. Of course, the good ship Destructoid is always full steam ahead, so feel free to check in with us. You’re always welcome here.
Protect the Weak
In between time-disrespecting live streams and endless news articles featuring announcements of announcements, I have found the time to blast through Dotemu’s fab animated brawler Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Of no surprise to anybody, it’s a delightful celebration of the Heroes in a Half Shell, featuring lovely visuals, satisfying combat, and a pizza box full of TMNT TV series fanservice. You can check out my review right here. I’m hoping to find the time this weekend to take my first steps into something backloggy, like Control, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or The Medium.
Oh, I’ve also been inspired to revisit the TMNT movie from 1990, which I haven’t seen since 1990.
Fight for rights and your freedom to speak
Now the villain is chillin’ so you make a stand. And by that, I mean jump into the comments below and spread the good word about your week and weekend. As I mentioned above, it can be something old from the backlog, something new from the great run of titles launched so far this year, or just something you feel inspired to boot up. There are no rules to Whatcha Been Playing (apart from “Don’t Be a Dick”), so please join myself and your fellow community members below in sharing the very best (and perhaps) worst, that entertainment has to offer here at 2022’s halfway mark. Lordy.
Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
