All of the leaks, rumors, and supposed industry insiders have settled on a general set of iPhone 14 specs that are the perfect mix of realistic and impressive. We’ve gathered these from a few different sources.
Yes, though not nearly as intrusive as the notch we’ve grown familiar with from previous versions of the iPhone. It varies depending on whether you go with the Pro or regular variants of this new flagship. For the Pro version, the notch is more like a slot, positioned down from the top bezel of the phone by a few millimeters. It kind of looks like a mini letterbox actually.
The regular variants of the iPhone 14 will have a notch that is identical in shape to the previous versions, but it’ll take up about half as much of the available screen real estate.
This all comes from the increasingly legitimate-looking renders from Ian Zelbo. (@IanZelbo on Twitter) It seems like everyone is taking these and running with them, and we’re inclined to agree.
From everything we’ve heard, seen, and smelled, the iPhone 14 is going to look much the same as the iPhone 13 does, however screen sizes, the aforementioned notch, and the thickness of the bezels could be a little different.
Maybe. Conventional wisdom says that Apple will follow in the footsteps of the Google Pixel 6 and Samsung Galaxy S22 and integrate the fingerprint sensor underneath the screen, which would address the biggest complaint about the incumbent iPhone 13.
However, there are some that believe this is not going to happen and is instead going to be delayed until 2023.
Yes, but don’t go snorkeling with it as we’re probably not going to see anything past the standard IP68 certification. This is still pretty impressive, though, as it means that the device is “fit enough to withstand dust, dirt, and sand, and are resistant to submersion up to a maximum depth of 1.5m underwater for up to thirty minutes”
