The brand more commonly known for its exciting lineup of high-end TVs has decided to dip its toe in the metaphorical gaming monitor pond – bringing two high-performance monitors to fruition.
The latest arrivals in the Sony arsenal will be coined the M9 and M3, both of which will feature high-end specifications for PC and console gaming. Alongside premium specifications which include; 4K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 support, Full-array local dimming, and HDR 600 certification, the M9 will also offer some unique features that are seldom found outside of high-performance TVs. Like the new Sony Bravia TV series, the M9 will also feature an Auto HDR Tone Mapping feature – allowing the monitor to recognize when a PS5 is attached and optimize the HDR appropriately.
The M3 seems to be more tailored toward PC’s esports players, scrapping the fancy FALD and HDR features for a 1080p screen resolution and rapid 240Hz refresh rate. Regardless, both sit at the high end of their respective categories – showcasing all the pros you would want from a gaming monitor.
Both monitors seem to showcase pretty good value for money, however, the M9 is certainly the more attractive prospect when comparing price to performance. The M9 will retail for $899 while the M3 will list for $529.
Pre orders for the Sony Inzone M9 are now live over at Sony direct, however, no official release date is known at the time of writing.
Sony targets PC esports and next-gen console players
The new gaming monitors will be a part of the brand’s latest Inzone lineup and will feature a carefully balanced mix of specifications that tailor them to both PC and next-gen console gaming. The flagship model has been labeled the M9, featuring a high-end IPS panel capable of [email protected] gameplay. Alongside a slew of equally impressive color-tailored specifications, the M9 will also feature a couple of HDMI 2.1 ports, allowing you to pair this monitor with both PS5 and Xbox Series X next-gen consoles.

Unlike the M9, this panel does not feature full-array local dimming, instead opting for an FPS-friendly 1080p screen resolution and 400 nits of peak brightness.
