How to Make a Vampire Sim in Sims 4
There’s a number of ways to create vampire Sims. Either by turning your pre-existing Sims into them, creating new ones in the CAS, or simply cheating.
What exactly makes a vampire Sim different? Vampire Sims need to feed on others. While the game can’t get away with calling it blood, they feed on plasma – which they can either get from other Sims or you can buy plasma bags to satiate a vampire’s thirst.
There are five Vampire Ranks, each of which unlocks new abilities and powers. Each Vampire Rank unlocks another row of Powers and Weaknesses to choose from:
- Rank 1 – Vampire Fledgling
- Rank 2 – Minor Vampire
- Rank 3 – Prime Vampire
- Rank 4 – Master Vampire
- Rank 5 – Grand Master Vampire
Vampire Sims have several options to increase their Vampire Rank.
- Sparring/Fighting/Curing Vampires
- Researching Vampiric Lore
- Being mentored by higher ranked Vampires
- Using vampiric powers
- Drinking Plasma
When vampires reach a new Vampire Rank, they’re required to choose a weakness, or else they won’t be allowed to learn any new powers, this acts as a means to balance their powers but also adds some more fun gameplay to make each vampire unique.
Create a Sim
The easiest way to create a vampire is through the Create a Sim option. When you click on your occult option you can create your vampire from scratch, giving them that undead look or perhaps focusing more on the suave and beguiling vampiric charm. However you want your vampire to look, there are plenty of options, including the more gothic-styled ones. These vampires are automatically defaulted to Rank 1 vampires.
Vladislaus Straud
The next way you can turn into a vampire is by visiting Vladislaus Straud, the local Grand Master Vampire. Befriending him will later allow you to ask him to turn you into a vampire. This is the option to use if you have a pre-existing Sim you’d like turned but don’t want to use cheats.
Cheats
You can also resort to cheats if you want to turn a pre-existing Sim into a vampire, these are the cheats to use:

Sims 4 Vampire Powers and Abilities
Vampires can unlock different abilities and powers depending on their Vampiric rank.
Fledgling Vampire (Tier 1)
Detect Personality
This power instantly reveals all three normal Traits of the target.
Bat Form
Allows the vampire to change “Go Here” to “Fly Here as Bat,” which is basically an instant teleport. A self-interaction can cause a vampire to always move as a bat, even for short distances, but this can be toggled at will. Two unrelated vampires that both have Bat Form powers can “WooHoo As Bats” or even “Try for Baby as Bats.”
Cast Hallucination
Creates an unreal ethereal being that the target speaks to for a short time. The target gains some of their Social Need for this, so it’s a fairly positive power even if other Sims may look a little oddly at the victim.
Eternally Welcome
Vampires generally aren’t allowed to enter another Sim’s house until they’re specifically invited. Vampires with this power can enter houses at will, and even use a little magic to lock or unlock doors. Perfect if your vampire does most of their hunting at night.
Occult Student et al
Occult Student reduces the Vampire Energy consumed with all powers. Further levels of this power further reduce the power.
Minor Vampire (Tier 2)
Vampiric Charm
Similar to the Beguiling Reward Trait, this vampire will give a permanent and passive buff that makes all other Sims around them physically attracted to them.
Vampiric Strength
Significantly increases the chance to win fights, even against other vampires that don’t have this power. Vampires with Vampiric Strength will almost certainly win fights against human Sims.
Command
Forces the target to cook, clean, repair objects, attempt to speak to a second target, and more.
Garlic Immunity
Prevents the debuffs that are normally inflicted from being near houses decorated with garlic objects.
Vampire Creation
Allows the ability to turn normal human Sims to vampires. The command to do this must be given; a turning will not happen with a simple or frenzied bite.
Prime Vampire (Tier 3)
Mesmerize
Forces the target to remain standing and significantly lowers their resistance to follow-up powers. This power can be canceled once you’re one with your victim.
Child of the Moon
Gains a passive buff at night that increases all skill gains.
Irresistible Slumber
Forces the target to fall asleep immediately.
Manipulate Life Spirit
Allows the vampire to drain life force from one Sim and give it to another. This can hasten or lengthen a human Sim’s natural life span, respectively.
Vampiric Slumber
Allows the vampire to recharge their Vampire Energy faster while sleeping.
Master Vampire (Tier 4)
Dampened Emotions
Increases the threshold needed to switch Emotions, thus keeping the vampire at Fine or Happy much easier.
Supernatural Speed
Passive buff that lets the vampire run at incredible speeds around a lot.
Deprive Needs
Forces the target to go critical with their need meters.
Sun Resistance
Reduces the impact of the sun’s rays on the vampire, lowering the drain on their Vampire Energy and reducing the chance they’ll die in sunlight.
Odorless
Freezes the Hygiene meter entirely. Pointless if stacked with the Antiseptic Reward Trait.
Grand Master (Tier 5)
Influence Emotion
Forces the target to experience an Emotion of the vampire’s choice.
Mist Form
Allows the vampire to turn into a misty wisp and teleport around a lot.
Beyond the Herd
Freezes the Social meter entirely. Stronger than the Independent Reward Trait.
Tamed Thirst
Reduces the decay of the Thirst Need. Can be bought a few times, but the Thirst Need can never be fully frozen.
Immortal Pleasures
Freezes the Fun meter completely.

Sims 4 Vampire Weaknesses
Tier 1
Withered Stomach
Inflicts illness if the vampire eats any food aside from Plasma Fruit Salad. Without this weakness, eating normal food does nothing.
Guilty Drinker
Inflicts a debuff moodlet if the vampire compels a victim for a drink. Easy to manage if your vampire has several friends or a good supply of Plasma Fruit.
Uncontrollable Hissing
Occasionally makes the vampire hiss for no reason, startling nearby Sims and giving a low-strength debuff to all nearby human Sims.
Tier 2
Sloppy Drinker
Recovers less of their thirst meter when drinking from a human Sim. Doesn’t affect the thirst meter recovery when drinking plasma packs or eating Plasma Fruit.
Thin Skinned
Significantly increases the damage the sun causes the vampire. Can be taken multiple times, but at high levels this can be instantly lethal if the vampire wanders outside with low Vampire Energy.
Tier 3
Sleep of the Undead
This vampire is only allowed to sleep in coffins. This one is easily manageable as coffins are relatively affordable, and vampires can still use Dark Meditation for quick recharges. Also, two vampires can Woo Hoo in coffins, so trading a bed for a coffin won’t harm a relationship’s fireworks.
Fitful Sleep
Lowers the amount of Vampire Energy regained from sleeping.
Tier 4
Insatiable Thirst
Hastens the decay of the thirst meter, thus requiring more time spent looking for victims.
Day Phobia
Inflicts a debuff that significantly reduces the chance of succeeding with any active vampire powers during the day, even if the vampire is safely indoors.
Tier 5
Eternal Sadness
Randomly inflicts a high-strength Sad Emotion that will likely override any other emotion. When paired with the Gloomy Trait, the Sim almost always be depressed.
