The Silent Hill 2 Remake System Requirements have been unveiled by Konami! The game was revealed at a recent event as being developed by Polish Studio, Bloober Team, the team behind the Layers Of Fear series and The Medium, and finally puts to bed the long-rumoured Silent Hill revival talk.

But what will you need inside your PC to play this psychological survival horror game? What are the minimum requirements? What are the recommended requirements? Where am I? Who am I? We take a look at most of these questions and reveal the set of system requirements, the minimum specs, and the recommended specs.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Minimum System Requirements

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

OS: Windows 10 x64

Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 3 3300X

Memory: 12 GB RAM

Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080

DirectX: Version 12

Storage: 50 GB available space

Sound Card: Windows Compatible Audio Device.

Additional Notes: Playing on minimum requirements should enable to play on Low/Medium quality settings in FullHD (1080p) in stable 30 FPS.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Recommended System Requirements

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

OS: Windows 11 x64

Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K | AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

Memory: 16 GB RAM

Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® 2080RTX or AMD Radeon™ 6800XT

DirectX: Version 12

Storage: 50 GB available space

Sound Card: Windows Compatible Audio Device.

Additional Notes: Playing on recommended requirements should enable playing on Medium quality settings in 60 FPS or High-quality settings in 30 FPS, in FullHD (or 4k using DLSS or similar technology).

It should be noted that we don’t actually have a release date for the game, so the specs listed above could change (though they are noted as the official specs on the Steam page for the game). The game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 for twelve months, with a PC version launching in lieu of other consoles. The game will launch on Xbox but not until further down the line, sadly. You’ll be able to fight monsters as James Sunderland in the remake across at least two consoles, though the primary concern for Silent Hill fans is that the original was a master-class in horror storytelling, and there’s a heavy concern that this simply won’t beat the original Silent Hill 2, that a full Silent Hill 2 remake simply isn’t possible from modern Konami.

The original used the technological limitations of what was then modern hardware to its advantage, with a limited draw-distance creating an aura of creepiness. It’s likely the new game uses new character animations and volumetric fog to enhance the scares, but it remains to be seen whether it’ll be enough. After all, a lot of us remember the full HD experience that was the Silent Hill 2 ports.
