That said, recently, several unavoidable nerfs have happened, mostly resulting in the temporary removal of certain characters.
Let’s take a look at the patch notes below and see if we can play as OP robot boy again yet.
The main gist of the Overwatch 2 3.4 patch appears to be focused on fixing several significant bugs. Needless to say, the biggest of these is the bugs that made both Bastion and Torbjörn unplayable for quite a while. This update sees both characters making a comeback, presumably with their giant bugs fixed.
Other than that, this update has primarily focused on the Halloween seasonal event that is about to start. The Overwatch 2 Halloween Terror event starts today, 25 October 2022, and sees a bunch of new content coming to the game, including new skins for almost all of the characters that give them a spooky air.

A huge factor with any big update is just how ‘big’ it actually is. Most people really want to get on with playing their game, not waiting for it to download. Well, we can confirm that the Overwatch 3.4 patch comes in at 2.67 GB, according to the fine folks over at the official forum.
While it’s not a big patch, many fans are a bit upset at the prospect of having to download 3GB for updated content that is going to be locked behind an FTP paywall. On the plus side, 3 GB isn’t insane, so it won’t take long to download the update so you can start playing.
You should be able to tell if your game is updated or not, though it’s a bit different for those on a console. On PC, load the Battle net client and check if you can click ‘Play’ on OVerwach 2. If not, click ‘Install’ instead, and it’ll install the update.
For the console version, you’ll need to simply try booting the game. In most cases, this will prompt the console to warn you that an update is needed. Then you simply allow the update to finish downloading and installing, and you’re all good to go.
Overwatch 2 is going free-to-play, so if you already own Overwatch 1, then you’re going to be forced into swapping to Overwatch 2 after the launch.
No. Overwatch 2 takes place a few years after the events of Overwatch 1.
