The One-Punch Man fandom was recently in heavy debate about whether or not the manga series is ending soon. The series’ artist, Yusuke Murata, made a tweet which got fans talking about the end of the hit manga. Murata was having a discussion on Twitter with some fellow artists in which he was thanking them and casually dropped the bombshell that the One-Punch manga series that he’s working on with ONE is going to end.
This put the fandom in a frenzy as fans started wondering if this was true. The prospect of the manga ending soon didn’t appear too far-fetched either, as the current arc sees Saitama in his biggest fight ever.
However, the off-the-cuff statement by Murata was also met with some suspicion. Native Japanese speakers said Murata used the word “series” instead of the word “serialisation” which is what most manga authors and artists would use when referring to, well, a manga’s serialisation.
Also, if One-Punch Man really does stop serialisation now then there would be many loose ends in the story. The manga has also given a lot of foreshadowing on things to come, which could very well become their own arcs. In other words, there is potential for a lot of future content.
Fortunately, Murata himself caught wind of this and cleared the air. A fan asked the artist, his fellow “brother in Christ,” if he can clarify what he meant when he said the series was ending.
Murata apologised for making fans confused, and explained that he was only referring to the Garou arc ending, which many optimistic fans were speculating to be the case.

Fans must have collectively heaved a sigh of relief at Murata’s clarification, but it’s also really humorous to imagine him hitting translate on the tweet and reading “brother in Christ” in Japanese.
