New Telltale Isn’t Sharing More About The Wolf Among Us 2 Just Yet

Since returning under new ownership, Telltale Games has been working on both re-releases of the old studio’s back catalog and new games. Though the latter is in the works, Telltale is saying that it’s not quite ready to share more at the moment.

In a quick update on Twitter, Telltale Games says The Wolf Among Us 2 is still in development, but things aren’t quite ready yet for more news. The studio says there’s more to do before its ready to share what’s next for the residents of Fabletown, and it will share more when the time is right.

A trailer for the in-development sequel to Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us premiered at last year’s Game Awards, so this is likely just getting ahead of any expectations for more news at tonight’s awards ceremony. The update falls under a weird realm of “news that there is no news right now,” Telltale also provided a quick update on the current situation surrounding its various IPs.

Alongside the new edition of Telltale’s Batman series and the return of Tales From Monkey Island, other various Telltale properties have been re-released back onto digital store shelves. There are others that won’t be as lucky, it seems; “as for questions about other Telltale titles, some games reverted back to the IP owners and their fate is not currently in our hands,” reads the statement.

Several of Telltale’s games started getting delisted from Steam and other storefronts after the announcement that the studio was bankrupt. Then, last year, the Telltale name was brought back to life, albeit under new leadership, though some of the original The Wolf Among Us devs are working on the sequel.

It’s good news for fans of the Fable-based narrative series. Sadly, it sounds like some other Telltale games under the various pop-culture IPs they worked with throughout the original studio’s run are disappearing into the digital ether. Now I can cherish my PS4’s old hard drive for more than just a copy of P.T., I suppose.
