Now the Lachmann Sub is by far the best gun we’ve played with during the multiplayer beta, but we did get our hands on the Fennec. There’s just one catch: we couldn’t add any attachments.

The Lachmann Sub Vs. the Fennec

There’s no doubt going to be a lot of debate around this, but which submachine gun is better – the Lachmann or the Fennec?

Both have strengths and weaknesses, which might come down to personal preference. The Fennec, however, undeniably has a higher rate of fire.

But this presents a problem as you’ll run out of ammo faster and need to dedicate an attachment slot to a larger magazine. The Lachmann Sub performs very well in comparison with just the standard 30-round magazine.

If we had to pick a horse in this race right here right now, it’d have to be the Lachmann, but we can’t say for sure until we get our hands on it in the final game.

This leads us nicely to what attachments we think you should use.

The Best Fennec Attachments

Here’s our Fennec build in Warzone. Assuming they’ll bring the same attachments over this build should do you well. You can even run this as your main if you like or just stick to the classic AR/Sub combo with Overkill as your perk.

Equip the following attachments:

• Monolithic suppressor
• the ZLR 16″ barrel
• the FTAC C6 Carbine Pro
• the Merc Foregrip
• Stippled Grip Tape

Monolithic suppressor

This will provide sound suppression and additional range but at the cost of aim down sight speed.

the ZLR 16″ barrel

We like to add a little extra range to our submachine guns. You never know at what distance you’ll have to engage, and it’s better to have the extra reach than need it and not have it. You’ll get damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control at the cost of aim-down-sight speed.

the FTAC C6 Carbine Pro

This heavy-duty stock will give you better stability, which perfectly pairs with the gun’s high rate of fire.

the Merc Foregrip

This adds recoil and hip-fire accuracy to the weapon. It’ll cost you some aim-down-sight speed, but SMGs, by default, have a pretty high ADS.

Stipped Grip Tape

Per our usual advice, save one slot for aim-down-sight speed.

Best Fennec Strategy for Modern Warfare 2

The Fennec is perfect for clearing out rooms as it spits lead at one of the highest rounds per minute of any gun in COD.

Use it as a backup by running Overkill and switch between it and an AR to engage effectively at both close and medium range.

If it’s a small map, use the Fennec as your primary, as you’ll always be within 30 meters in every engagement.

For tacticals/lethals we recommend flashbangs and semtex, and if you run resupply with your perks, you’ll never run out of things to throw.

Is the Fennec the best gun in Modern Warfare 2?

It gives the Lachmann Sub a run for it’s money for sure but we won’t be able to make a final call until the game comes out.

Is the Fennec a real gun?

Yes, it’s based on the Kriss Vector submachine gun. Though chambered in .45 ACP in the game, versions of the vector can also accept 9mm and 10mm cartridges.
