It’s finally coming. Resident Evil 8 DLC has been announced, but what is the Resident Evil Village DLC price & release date?

What even is the DLC, and what can you expect from the content? We take a dive and find out.

Resident Evil 8 DLC Release Date

So the Resident Evil 8 DLC is entitled the Winters’ Expansion, and will launch October 28th this year. As stated over on the PlayStation blog post:

“The first piece of content is the Third-Person Mode. This will allow you to play the main story mode in a third-person perspective…. Next is The Mercenaries Additional Orders. The arcade-like action shooting experience returns with additional stages and new playable characters such as a fully prepared Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, who wields a giant hammer and possesses the ability to control magnetic forces, and Alcina Dimitrescu who is over nine-feet tall.”

“Finally, Shdows of Rose. Players saw Rose as a baby in the main story of Resident Evil Village. This DLC will show her story of survival 16 years after the original campaign. Rosemary Winters, Ethan’s beloved daughter, has grown up and is now struggling with terrifying powers. In search of a way to break free from her curse, Rose enters the consciousness of the Megamycete.”

UPDATE: We now have a trailer for the Mercenaries mode of the DLC!

What Platforms Will We See The DLC On?

So currently the DLC is scheduled to release across all the platforms that the original Resident Evil Village released on.

This means that the DLC will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. You can order the DLC now digitally if you want, allowing you to have access to the extra content the day that it releases.

We don’t yet have pricing information of the DLC however, though it’s likely going to retail at around £20 given the history of the Resident Evil DLC.
