Genshin Impact Yae Miko | WePC

Last Updated:

Yae Miko is a 5-star Electro Catalyst character who specialises as an Electro Burst / Sub-DPS, and is only available on the Character Event Wish banner while she is a featured character. Keep reading to find out what materials are needed to Ascend Yae, her best builds and an overview of how to use her effectively.

Yae Ascension Stat

All characters in Genshin Impact have a particular stat that levels up alongside their base stats. For Yae, this extra stat is CRIT Rate, which will help her to CRIT more consistently as well as make her a little easier to build, Artifact stat-wise.

Yae Ascension Materials

Once you have obtained Yae and maxed her to Level 20, she can be further levelled up through Ascension. The materials you will need to Ascend Yae are as follows:

Level Ascension Materials
Level 20 Vajrada Amethyst Sliver x 1
Sea Ganoderma x 3
Old Handguard x 3
Level 40 Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x 3
Dragonheir’s False Fin x 2
Sea Ganoderma x 10
Old Handguard x 15
Level 50 Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x 6
Dragonheir’s False Fin x 4
Sea Ganoderma x 20
Kageuchi Handguard x 12
Level 60 Vajrada Amethyst Chunk x 3
Dragonheir’s False Fin x 8
Sea Ganoderma x 30
Kageuchi Handguard x 18
Level 70 Vajrada Amethyst Chunk x 6
Dragonheir’s False Fin x 12
Sea Ganoderma x 45
Famed Handguard x 12
Level 80 Vajrada Amethyst Gemstone x 6
Dragonheir’s False Fin x 20
Sea Ganoderma x 60
Famed Handguard x 24

Vajrada Amethyst Slivers, Fragments, Chunks and Gemstones can be obtained by defeating Electro Hypostasis, located in Mondstadt, and the Thunder Manifistation, located in Inazuma.

Dragonheir’s False Fins can be obtained by defeating the Bolteater Bathysmal Vishap and Rimebiter Bathysmal Vishap, located in Enkanomiya

Sea Ganoderma can be found across Inazuma. They grow in abundance around the coasts of Kannazuka, Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island.

Old Handguard, Kageuchi Handguard and Famed Handguard can be obtained by defeating Nobushi, which can be found throughout Inazuma.

Yae Talent Materials

In order to make Yae stronger, you’ll need to upgrade her talents. The materials you will need are as follows:

  • Old Handguard
  • Kageuchi Handguard
  • Famed Handguard
  • Teachings of Light
  • Guide to Light
  • Philosophies of Light
  • The Meaning Of Aeons

The Teachings, Guide and Philosophies of Light can be obtained by completing the Domain of Mastery: Violet Court every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, The Meanig Of Aeons is a potential drop from the Weekly Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto Challenge.

Yae Best Weapons

Yae has a few good weapon options:

Weapon Rarity
Kagura’s Verity 5-star
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds 5-star
Skyward Atlas 5-star
Memory of Dust 5-star
The Widsith 4-star
Solar Pearl 4-star
Oathsworn’s Eye 4-star

Yae’s best in slot is Kagura’s Verity. This weapon was designed for her; it features a high Base ATK, hefty CRIT DMG substat, and a passive which increases her Elemental Skill DMG, which is a big part of her kit. Lost Prayer to the Sacred is a decent stat stick on her thanks to its CRIT Rate substat, although she’ll have trouble stacking its passive since she’ll be off-field the majority of the time. If you have a good CRIT ratio on your Yae, Skyward Atlas is a good choice, since it gives a tonne of ATK and its passive will increase her DMG. Like Skyward Atlas, Memory of Dust will also give Yae plenty of ATK, although it suffers from the same problems as Lost Prayer to the Sacred, where Yae will struggle to stack its passive due to being off-field.

Yae has a few 4-star weapons she can make good use of, too. The Widsith is easily her best 4-star option, with a decent Base ATK and high CRIT DMG substat. Its passive also benefits her DMG output significantly – even the Elemental Mastery buff isn’t entirely wasted on her. Alternatively, Solar Pearl is a good option and will give Yae a decent amount of CRIT Rate. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a F2P weapon, Oathsworn’s Eye is a great choice. It will give Yae a good amount of ATK, and its passive will help her with her Energy Recharge issues, meaning you should be able to use her Burst a little more consistently.

Yae Best Artifacts

There are a couple different sets you can mix-and-match for Yae, since she doesn’t really have a dedicated set. 4-Piece Emblem of Severed Fates can be good on her, as it helps with her Energy Recharge issues whilst also buffing her Elemental Burst DMG. However, this set won’t benefit her Elemental Skill, which is important to her kit. Therefore, you can use a combination of 2-Piece Thundering Fury and 2-Piece ATK +18%, which will help to increase her whole kit’s DMG.

For low-level players, 2-Piece The Exile and 2-Piece Lucky Dog work well until you’re able to get higher level Artifacts.

For your Artifact main stats, you will want to run:

  • ATK% / Energy Recharge Sands
  • Electro DMG Bonus Goblet
  • CRIT DMG/Rate Circlet

You’ll only want to use an Energy Recharge Sands on Yae if she has adequate ATK from her weapon, either with its substat or passive, and if you want her to be more of a Burst DPS than off-field support. In terms of Artifact substats, you’ll want to focus on Energy Recharge, ATK%, some Elemental Mastery, and both CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate.

How to Use Yae

Her Elemental Skill, Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura, makes Yae move swiftly, leaving a Sesshou Sakura behind. Sesshou Sakura has the following properties: periodically strikes one nearby opponent with lightning, dealing Electro DMG; when there are other Sesshou Sakura nearby, their level will increase, boosting the DMG dealt by these lightning strikes. This skill has three charges. A maximum of 3 Sesshou Sakura can exist simultaneously. The initial level of each Sesshou Sakura is 1, and the initial highest level each sakura can reach is 3. If a new Sesshou Sakura is created too close to an existing one, the existing one will be destroyed.

Her Elemental Burst, Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin, summons a lightning strike, dealing AoE Electro DMG. When she uses this skill, Yae Miko will unseal nearby Sesshou Sakura, destroying their outer forms and transforming them into Tenko Thunderbolts that descend from the skies, dealing AoE Electro DMG. Each Sesshou Sakura destroyed in this way will create one Tenko Thunderbolt.

While Yae is capable of dealing a high amount of DMG from her Burst, most of her utility comes from her off-field Electro DMG and application from her Skill, much like Fischl. Her Burst is a nice bit of bonus DMG to your rotation, although she can be built to prioritise her Burst DMG capabilities – just make sure to stack some more Energy Recharge on her. You’ll also want to have another Electro character on her team to help battery her, which leads us onto the next section.

Best Team Comps

Yae works very well alongside the Raiden Shogun; Raiden helps to battery Yae, and in return Yae can use her Burst during Raiden’s Burst’s cooldown. Both characters also have a lot of off-field Electro application with their Skills, so there will be no shortage of DMG. Your other slots will likely be Bennett for the heals and buffs, and an Anemo unit such as Sucrose, Venti or Kazuha. Alternatively, you could replace your Anemo character for Xiangling, to create an Overload team comp.

Yae can also work in an Electro-Charged team, thanks to her Sensshou Sakuras’ off-field Electro Application. Therefore, Hydro characters such as Tartaglia, Kokomi or Mona are all good choices. You’ll also want an Anemo character, and your final slot could consist of another Electro character to help battery Yae.
