Smash & Chill is a 9-track tribute to the music of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros, produced by Tudd and General Offensive. Fusing post-rock, lofi, and synthwave styles, the album is a groundbreaking installment in GameChops’ “& Chill” series.
Smash & Chill’s tracklist comprises fan-favorite themes from the Super Smash Bros soundtrack, and spotlights a wide sampling of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises including Super Mario, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Earthbound, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong, Persona, and Yoshi’s Island. Mastered by VGM legend Stemage, Tudd describes Smash & Chill as a “multi-genre, explorative project, driven by our creative instincts”.
Tudd and General Offensive first met years ago through an online Sonic the Hedgehog fan community. They hit it off immediately, and both having musical backgrounds, started making music together. After many collaborations and single releases together, Smash & Chill is their first full-length album. Drawing on some of their favorite themes from the soundtrack, the album’s tracklist spans a wide range of musical genres while maintaining a chill vibe.
