*Update* According to Tom Henderson’s sources, the potential FIFA 23 release date could be September 30th, 2022.
FIFA 23 is yet to be officially announced, however, it is looking more and more likely that this will be the last ‘FIFA’ game, marking a sad end to the mega-franchise. EA stated that they are possibly going to rename the series to ‘EA Sports FC’ from 2023 onwards, which probably won’t change that much gameplay-wise but change is always scary!
We have already started to see many leaks around possible release dates, talks of crossplay, Ultimate Team changes, and a possible World Cup mode. FIFA 23 is gearing up to be the biggest ever in the history of the franchise, apparently with more licenses than ever before, giving players access to all new leagues, teams, and stadiums.
So what’s in store for FIFA 23? When might it release? When can we get our hands on the pre order and dive into early access?
The normal time of year we see a FIFA release is around the end of September/the start of October. FIFA 22 was fully launched on Friday 1st, October 2021, so if EA plan on another Friday launch that could mean the FIFA 23 release date will be September 30th, 2022. Nothing announced just yet, however, if the game is 100% being released (which looks likely) then we are close to seeing a teaser trailer/ official announcement over the next month or so.
Last years FIFA reveal trailer dropped on the 11th of July, 2021 and we fully expect a similar time frame for FIFA 23.
As mentioned, there is nothing official on a FIFA 23 launch but looking back at FIFA 22 we can make some assumptions. Last year EA stated that those planning to pre order FIFA needed to pre order by August 11th to get their hands on an untradable FUT Heroes player item. This begs the question – will there be FIFA 23 pre ordered bonuses? It is very likely, we see it with most EA titles but what those pre order rewards will be remains unknown at this stage.
FIFA 22 pre order benefits were as follows:
Our prediction is that FIFA 23 pre orders will be available not long after the teaser trailer hits.
Looking back at FIFA 22, it is probable that we might see early access to FIFA 23. If the release date was on September 30th, then we would see early access to the game start on the 27th. There could be a 10-hour EA Play trial too.
We imagine FIFA 23 will be closely priced like its predecessor and the different pre order editions will likely share similar names, prices, and benefits.
Last year:
Kylian Mbappé has been featured on the FIFA cover for two years now, so is it the time of Erling Haaland?
As FIFA 23 will be available on all platforms, you will be able to pre order the game your preferred way. The world’s largest physical and online stores will go live with pre orders, so no matter if you buy the game from Steam, GameStop, Amazon, or Walmart, you are covered.
With nothing official yet, we can only assume the latest FIFA will once again be available across all platforms. this should include current and previous generation consoles.
FIFA 23 is set to be the best football game of all time, with EA introducing even more licensed leagues than ever before. While these are unconfirmed, leakers suggest several potential new leagues such as:
We predict that Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Kevin De Bruyne will all be the best players in the latest game with a rating of 92. We could see Erling Haaland receive a +3 boost and Karim Benzema +2.
The answer to this question isn’t as clear-cut as a yes or no. The game as we know it may end but there is going to be a new line of football games coming in the following years. We may even see two titles, one from EA and another ‘FIFA’ in the future. The future of ‘FIFA’ is in the air but EA plans to release the same game fans love but what that might be is unknown at this stage. EA Sports will rename the FIFA series to EA Sports FC from 2023.
Based on previous titles we suspect FIFA 23 player ratings could be released by the first week of September of this year. Icons may be released beforehand but we won’t know for sure until the game is fully announced.
EA and FIFA have ended their long, lucrative partnership, with FIFA 23 being the official end. While EA plans to release its own version, FIFA has also confirmed that they themselves will launch a new line of football games, being developed by third-party publishers/ studios. This makes sense, the FIFA game brand is massive, and fans will flock to a FIFA 24, as long as the quality continues to rise.
Yes, FIFA 22 was added to EA play on the 22nd of June, 2022. As an EA Play member, you will be able to enjoy FIFA 22, no matter if you are on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
