Diablo: Immortal Ultimate Demon Hunter Build Guide

Last Updated:

Dark fantasy action RPG series Diablo has a new installment: Diablo Immortal. Despite being a free-to-play title, Diablo Immortal retains the core gameplay that long-time fans have come to love and appreciate.

Diablo Immortal’s six starting classes are similar to those in previous Diablo titles. In this guide, we’ll go over everything there is to know about the Demon Hunter class so you can create the best Diablo Immortal Demon Hunter Build, including the best abilities, stats, and more. You’ll learn about the class’s strengths and weaknesses, stats, skills, important attributes, and magical attributes, along with the best class-specific gear, gems, legendary gems, and Paragon points.

By the end, you will know everything there is to know about building your Demon Hunter for the best possible results when playing.

There’s a lot to consider when deciding whether to play as a Demon Hunter in Diablo Immortal, as there are a variety of player classes to choose from, making it difficult to pick the best setup. That said, there are many advantages to taking the Demon Hunter class over other classes.

Diablo Immortal’s Demon Hunters excel at long-distance combat and can inflict significant damage while doing so. Thanks to their arsenal of weapons and abilities, they can handle many enemies—as long as they can maintain a safe distance, that is!

With their dual one-handed crossbows, Demon Hunters are an excellent choice for those who enjoy fast-paced, action-packed ranged combat. The long-range and glass cannon styles of play leave little room for error, but they reward players for their ability to execute and strategize well.

When equipped with the proper build and gear, the Demon Hunter class in Diablo Immortal can deal massive damage to both single targets while also dealing massive amounts of damage to groups of enemies.

Demon Hunters are prized for their combat prowess when working in groups because of their high DPS skills and space-making traps.

Although the Demon Hunter lacks survivability and crowd control, you’ll need to think carefully about where you position yourself. If you make even a single mistake, you will almost certainly perish.

Overall, it’s easy to farm, level, and progress through the end game with the Demon Hunter class. So, if you’re looking for a pure DPS class with a point-and-shoot playstyle, the Demon Hunter is a good choice for you.

Diablo Immortal Ultimate Demon Hunter Build: Core Skills

All three types of skills are available to all Demon Hunters:

  • Primary – Unlike other types of attacks, there is no cooldown associated with primary attacks. At level 1, players learn one primary attack, and at level 34, they learn a second primary attack.
  • Skills – A total of 12 skills are taught to players throughout the game’s progression, with the first two being learned at level one. Cooldowns for all skills range from less than a second to more than half a minute.
  • Ultimate – This is a charged ability that alters the behavior of your primary skill of choice. To use this, you’ll need to charge it for a long time. To unleash the Demon Hunter’s Ultimate power, you must have a fully charged Ultimate bar. The bar will begin to charge again when the bar is empty, and you start using your primary skills to kill enemies. A fully charged Ultimate bar will not continue to charge until it has been used, so you can’t store multiple ultimate power charges. When the second primary skill is unlocked, the second ultimate skill is made available.

All these abilities become available as the game progresses, but all classes begin with only one primary attack and two skills.

While not engaged in combat, you can switch between up to one primary attack and up to four skills at any time.

Crossbow-wielding Demon Hunters are known for their high damage output and agility. Because of this, combining it with the best skills can yield the greatest single-target damage in the game. Diablo Immortal’s Demon Hunter class has five skills that work best with it:

Note: You’ll be able to use this class’s most powerful abilities when you finally reach level 28. Diablo Immortal’s best Demon Hunter skills are listed below.

  • Crossbow shot – Fires an arrow for damage while moving at a slower speed. Using the volley, you can perform multiple shots with increased damage and movement speed, allowing you to avoid harm while still dealing damage.
  • Sentry – When summoned, this sentry will shoot at enemies in the vicinity, dealing significant amounts of damage per shot. You can also deploy two active sentries at the same time.
  • Multishot – A barrage of arrows can be launched in one direction, and it can deal a significant amount of damage to any foe in its path.
  • Rain of Vengeance – You can unleash a torrent of arrows that rain down on your foes for over four seconds, inflicting massive damage.
  • The Daring Swing – Swing to a nearby location using a rope, inflicting damage on your enemies and making you invincible as you do so. It’s important to keep in mind that certain abilities, such as Daring Swing, will only be usable in certain situations, so you won’t always be able to get away by using it.

Gameplay: How to Play as Demon Hunter Class in Diablo Immortal

As mentioned above, always keep an eye on where you’re positioned, as the Demon Hunter is a bit of a glass cannon. You’ll have to keep your eyes darting about as you must keep an eye out for possible escape routes while you’re whittling away at the health of large groups of enemies. Otherwise, you’ll likely get swarmed. In other words, when using this class, be careful not to overextend yourself.

When it comes to taking down bosses, utilize skills like Vengeance, which increase the effectiveness of primary attacks, to help you take down bosses while remaining mobile. If you’re dealing with large mob groups, use AoE attacks such as Spinning Chakram or Multishot.

As a general rule, direct damage via AoE skills is preferable to traps because your goal is to kill enemies as quickly as possible, especially in the non-story gameplay aspects.

Diablo Immortal Ultimate Demon Hunter Build: Best Equipment

Diablo Immortal lets you customize your character’s stats by equipping them with various items. For gear selection, it’s all about finding the best stats for your class and build, figuring out the best attributes, and looking for the best Legendary Powers. Demon Hunters who understand how the three work together will have an easier time finding the best equipment.

As everyone knows, your demonic opponents can drop items that are significantly better than what you currently have equipped. In order to speed up your progression and leveling, you must wear better gear as soon as possible. Keep an eye out on your screen, as after defeating enemies, your inventory will begin to flash when you get better weapons and armor from them. Oh, and always remember to visit a blacksmith to upgrade your equipment and salvage what you no longer need.

Overall, Strength and Fortitude are the two most important attributes of the Demon Hunter class. So focus on finding and equipping the gear that provides these attributes.

What Legendary Items are Best for Demon Hunter Class in Diablo Immortal?

Diablo Immortal’s Hilts are a great way of getting extra legendary gems as you work your way through the free battle pass.

Always keep your eyes peeled for legendary drops. Believe me; you’ll kick yourself if you don’t.

Each class has a unique set of Legendary Items. Weapons, off-hand, head, shoulders, chest and legs are the six primary weapon slots that can be equipped with Legendary Items.

For the Demon Hunter, the best Legendary powers are those that appear in the Recommended Builds, as well as those that aren’t worth the time. For each of the six slots, we provide a complete list of all Demon Hunter Legendary Powers, so you can see everything available.

Each class has a total of 42 unique Legendary powers, with six slots with seven Legendaries each. The slots that can be selected are:

  • Main Hand
  • Off-Hand
  • Head
  • Shoulders
  • Chest
  • Legs

There is always room for individual preference, but these are some of the best legendary abilities available to Demon Hunters. These are the most powerful but also the most adaptable weapons in the game.

Kiting packs of monsters will be a necessity for Demon Hunters in Diablo Immortal. Having a consistent amount of damage being dealt on the move is critical, and your Primary Attack can help with that. The Hungerer, one of the legendary off-hand crossbows, will be your primary weapon of choice in most situations. In addition to piercing through enemies, the legendary power of the Crossbow Shot provides a tonne of additional damage.

Best Demon Hunter Skill Legendary Powers

Item Name Slot Description
Heart of Vengeance Chest As the title suggests, this legendary chest interacts with the main cooldown of a Demon Hunter’s Vengeance ability in Diablo Immortal. The Heart of Vengeance reduces its cooldown by 15%, making it a must-have for all Demon Hunter gameplay.
The Hungerer Off-Hand A Demon Hunter’s damage formula relies heavily on Primary Attack damage, which the Hungerer provides in spades. Crossbow Shot, the primary attack of choice in most situations, gains extra power from this legendary item, allowing it to pierce through enemies.
Vision of the Lost Head Successful Demon Hunter play revolves around playing around Vengeance. Vision of the Lost completes the main cooldown support package by extending the duration of Vengeance with each defeated enemy.

Weakest Demon Hunter’s Legendary Power

Item Name Slot Description
Daye’s Frightful Persona Head When it comes to Daye’s Frightful Persona for the Knockback Shot, the gear should only be used in specific PvP builds. A mere 10% increase in damage feels and reads weak to players who wouldn’t choose the skill in the first place.
Chillwrath Mantle Shoulders There are a lot of Demon Hunters who use Chillwrath Mantle because Daring Swing is their primary movement skill. However, players shouldn’t waste a legendary slot in a PvE setup by equipping it with a weak damage component.

Diablo Immortal Ultimate Demon Hunter Build: Stats, Gems, and Attributes

In addition to having the necessary skills, players should also consider their stats, attributes, and gems. You need to invest in the right ones to enhance your character’s abilities to the best they can be.

What Stats to Focus on for Demon Hunter Class in Diablo Immortal?

When it comes to playing as a Demon Hunter, it’s best to have high levels of Strength and Fortitude.

Remember, when it comes to your Combat Rating, the more stat points you have on your gear, the higher your rating will be. Gear that increases Strength and Fortitude stats should be your top priority as a Demon Hunter because these are the two most important stats. Each point in these stats always gives you a +1 in Combat Rating.

The following are the most critical stats to focus on for Demon Hunters:

Strength –

One STR Point gives:

  • +1 Combat Rating
  • +0.3 Damage

In terms of damage scaling, Demon Hunters should prioritize Strength. In terms of raw damage, it is one of the only stats that increase it along with your Combat Rating, which means it adds the most damage per point.

Fortitude

Each FOR Point gives:

  • +1 Combat Rating
  • +0.1 Armor
  • +0.1 Armor Penetration

In addition to providing 1 Combat Rating per point, Fortitude also boosts Armour and Armour Penetration, enhancing both defense and offense at the same time.

Vitality

Each VIT Point gives:

Even though Demon Hunters are used to being glass cannons, a little more survivability never hurt anyone. To maximize your combat rating, try to find the right balance between VIT and the other damage stats.

The following two stats aren’t as important to making a great Demon Hunter build but are still worth investing in from time to time.

Willpower

Each WIL Point gives:

  • +1 Combat Rating
  • +0.1 Potency
  • +0.1 Resistance

Consider Willpower a nice-to-have but not-essential stat that increases your resistance and decreases the resistance of your opponents to adverse effects.

Intelligence

Each INT Point gives:

Intelligence is a bit of a dud as it’s the worst stat for non-magic users. It adds the least damage per point and provides no additional benefit.

What Magic Attributes to Focus on for Demon Hunter Class in Diablo Immortal?

To make the best Demon Hunter build possible, you’ll need the Attributes and Gems that go along with those skills. Attributes require that you collect and upgrade gear that is at least yellow or orange (that means legendary!) in quality.

Attributes are any properties on your gear that give you an advantageous boost to the five stats listed above in terms of either defense or offense. As a general rule, Demon Hunters should focus on the most critical Stats first, but they should also pay attention to the most important Attributes.

Some of the ideal Attributes for Demon Hunters to look out for on your collected or upgraded gear are:

  1. All damage done increased by X%—Flat damage is an attribute that benefits all classes and archetypes and should always be sought after.
  2. An additional flat damage modifier that scales with weapon damage is ideal for Demon Hunters, so pay attention when you see an increase of X% to the base item damage.
  3. Critical Hit Chance increased by X%—Crossbow Shot’s kiting nature allows Demon Hunters to hit their targets frequently in a short period, increasing the chance of a critical hit by X%. As a result, critical hits occur more frequently than in other classes, making this an important attribute.
  4. The double-dip of increasing critical hit damage is also key, as it directly relates to critical hit chance and maximizes this further. Although its scaling also quickly diminishes with increased rating.
  5. Another flat bonus, like this one, is just as useful as damage multipliers when it comes to surviving both in-game and endgame content.
  6. For Demon Hunters, increased mobility means greater survivability, so be on the lookout for movement speed increased by X%. This attribute will help you avoid enemy attacks while simultaneously increasing your damage output.

Next up is using gems to improve your overall stats as you level up your Demon Hunter character.

What Normal Gems to Choose for Demon Hunter Class in Diablo Immortal?

It is possible to acquire legendary gems in various ways, and they can have a significant impact on your Demon Hunter powers in Diablo Immortal. While leveling, you’ll come across a plethora of gems, so don’t forget to wear them.

It is possible to equip up to six of these items at a time by socketing them into Primary Gear slots. That is:

  • Main Hand
  • Off-hand
  • Chest
  • Helm
  • Shoulders
  • Legs

Overall, the best gems to seek out to boost your Damage, Armour Penetration, and Overall Resistance are:

  • Tourmaline – these increase your overall damage
  • Sapphire – these increase your overall damage and armor penetration
  • Topaz – these increase your resistance to armor penetration

Visit the Blacksmith frequently to keep your yellow and orange gear up to date and keep an eye out for any additional gems that may be useful to you in your questing endeavors – you never know when a better one will come along!

What Legendary Gems to Choose for Demon Hunter Class in Diablo Immortal?

There are numerous ways to acquire Legendary Gems in Diablo Immortal, and they can go a long way toward enhancing your abilities. 5-star gems are the most powerful and rarest, while 1-star and 2-star gems are also available.

Due to the way they combine attributes, some Legendary Gems are better suited to certain classes than others

For Demon Hunters, there is no better gem than Everlasting Torment, which deals a lot of critical hit damage. Once an enemy mob dies from a critical strike, you will gain agony buffs that inflict damage over time. While mobs are infected with the agony buff, you will be able to attack more quickly.

However, the following are other Legendary gems you should look for in a Demon Hunter build:

  • Berserker’s Eye: This gem will significantly increase your overall damage, but you must be careful when using it as it will also increase your damage taken. Because of the slower movement speed of a Demon Hunter, this can be highly damaging. This is a 1 Star Legendary Gem.
  • Demon Hunters can use Ca’arsen’s Invigoration to boost the speed of their primary attack, which you’ll be doing quite a bit of. You’ll gain both increased damage and movement speed. This is a 1 Star Legendary Gem.
  • Fervent Fang is a must-have in nearly every Demon Hunter loadout because of its damage-increasing debuff after each consecutive hit, perfect for the class’s single-target strengths. Using Fervent Fang against single-target enemies like Elite Monsters or in PVP is a great idea, but it also works well in general. Battle Pass holders have access to this. This is a 2 Star Legendary Gem.
  • Fighting hordes of monsters with a group is made easier with the help of the AOE damage dealt by the Lightning Core gem. This is a 2 Star Legendary Gem.
  • Power and Command: An excellent gem that significantly increases the damage of your primary attacks and skills. With this bonus, Demon Hunters’ overall damage is increased by an incredible 7.5%. This is a 2 Star Legendary Gem.

Diablo Immortal Ultimate Demon Hunter Build: Paragon Points and Skills

Demon Hunters will excel at killing enemies in single target with Vanquisher paragon points.

Once you’ve reached level 60 as a Demon Hunter, you’ll begin unlocking Paragon Points, Levels, and Skills. A paragon point can be used in the skill tree you have opened for every level you gain after that.

The selection of Paragon Trees does not vary significantly between classes, and the five trees of Paragon Points in Diablo Immortal open at various Paragon levels. There are five skill trees in total:

  • Survivor
  • Vanquisher
  • Treasure Hunter
  • Soldier
  • Gladiator

Persistent Attributes and Specialization Skills are both present in these trees, but only when the tree is currently active. It’s vital to remember that there can only be one active Paragon Tree, so you must plan wisely!

Vanquisher and Survivor are the default starting classes, and you’ll reach Paragon Levels (which are different from experience levels!) 50, 100, and 150 before being able to unlock Treasure Hunter, Gladiator, and Soldier.

Every skill tree in Paragon has five subcategories, and each time you gain a Paragon point, you can equip a new skill in one of the five skill tree categories listed above.

The Vanquisher Paragon Skill tree unlocks at level 60, allowing you to add significant bonuses to your class. We recommend that a Demon Hunter’s first Paragon points should be invested in the Strength, Damage, and Zeal subcategories of the Vanquisher skill tree. These selections will grant you a +75 bonus for the damage you inflict, increase your attack speed, and give you more damage for each successful kill.

Diablo Immortal Ultimate Demon Hunter Build: Strengths and Weaknesses

In summary, the strengths and weaknesses of this build are:

Pros

  • Skills can inflict massive damage.
  • In addition, primary attacks have a lot of power.
  • Good kiting speed due to quickness of movement.
  • When a fight gets hectic, the traps help clear some space for the other players.

Cons

  • Compared to other classes, this class’s escape abilities are pretty weak.
  • Will frequently take damage while attacking.
  • For group play, there are no notable buffs. The Demon Hunter is only helpful in a group game if they survive long enough to inflict enough damage.

Overall, when it comes to dealing massive amounts of damage in a short period of time, the Demon Hunter is unbeatable. However, without proper positioning, its lackluster disengage abilities make greater difficulty challenges extremely difficult to complete.

To compensate for your character’s vulnerability as a Demon Hunter, you’ll need a wide range of items.

This is the end of the Diablo Immortal Demon Hunter build. But, our Diablo Immortal hub is constantly updated with new guides and information about the game’s various classes, so be sure to head over there!
