Crypt Of The Necrodancer is an extremely beloved indie rhythm title that became so popular it eventually got a Zelda spin-off. Now, after five years of complete radio silence, it’s received an update teasing more to come.
Crypt Of The Necrodancer Sequel Incoming?
Brace Yourself Games has published a blog post that has the following excerpt that’s extremely intriguing:
“Yup. You’re seeing this right. After 1,721 days, Crypt of the NecroDancer is getting another update. And it’s a big one. You might be saying ‘Brace Yourself Games, it’s been 5 years. Why are you updating now? Well, let’s just say this is a precursor to something bigger coming your way, and we want to make sure that we address some of the community’s most significant feedback before we get there.”
What this blog post will do is spark a lot of interesting conversation around the game. Will the ‘something bigger’ be a simple DLC for the game, or are we looking at a full-blown sequel for the title? Hopefully we find out sooner rather than later, but this update will sate fans for now.
What Is The Game?
Crypt Of The NecroDancer released back in 2015 and is a rhythm-based hardcore roguelike rhythm game. In the game you had to travel on the beat in order to keep your combo up, and any single move that’s not on the beat could result in you being completely and utterly ripped apart by the enemies in the game.
