God Of War: Ragnarok could actually be releasing in 2022. That is, if a rating from South Korea is anything to believe.
God Of War: Ragnarok in 2022?
A ResetEra user has noticed that the South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee has granted God of War: Ragnarok an 18 rating, meaning that we could easily be seeing a release for the much anticipated sequel sooner rather than later.
Usually games aren’t rated until they’re either extremely close to being finished or are basically finished, suggesting we could be seeing news on the game over the course of what many have fondly dubbed as “Presentation Season”.
While earlier this year Sony Santa Monica’s animation director reassured a fan that the game would be releasing this year, replying to a tweet with:
“Ragnorok is coming this year.”
Reassurance
People have been worried about a potential delay due to COVID-19, and various other factors could lead to it becoming one of the many games delayed this year. After all, the game was originally supposed to release back in 2021 but had to be pushed back so that the voice actor for Kratos could undergo physical therapy, in addition to Santa Monica Studio wanting to make sure the game is as high quality as they can possibly output, with Cory Balrog stating on Twitter:
“God of War Ragnarok, the elephant in the room. We haven’t said a lot about this. That’s because everybody is heads down, hard at work. We are perfectionists. Everyone’s tightening up the graphics on level three. There is so much going on right now that I just wish that we could share it with you, but it’s just not ready to be shown. But I guarantee you the moment, the very second that we have something that we’re ready to share, we’re going to share it with you because we don’t want to hold any of this back. So please hold tight, know that something cool is coming and that we, everybody here at Santa Monica is so incredibly thankful for all the support that you’ve given us.”
