• Connect your Dual Shock 4 controller to your PS5 with a micro-USB cable.
• Select the account that you wish to sync with the controller.
• Unplug your cable and test if your buttons are still working.
• From now on, you should be able to reconnect your controller by pressing the ‘PlayStation’ button on your DS4.

After that, you should be able to use the controller on your PS5 freely. Just remember, you won’t be able to enjoy all the games in your library, only the PS4 ones.
