It’s almost time for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Beta.

With the beta dropping soon, many players are asking what time they’ll be able to access the game.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta Release Time & Date

We already know that the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Beta release time is starting at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/5 PM BST on 16 September 2022. Bear in mind that you’ll only be able to access it at this time if you have pre ordered the game on a PlayStation system.

Presumably, the Modern Warfare 2 open beta release time will be the same, 10 AM PT/1 PM ET/5 PM BST, but it will take place on 18 September 2022.

Unlike some games with staggered beta releases, the MW2 beta will be released worldwide simultaneously. That means that if you’re in certain time zones, you may have to stay up late into the evening to play the game.

For example, the Beta won’t be available in Japan until 2 AM JST on 17 September 2022.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Beta Date

As already stated above, the first modern warfare 2 beta will start on 16 September, but there are several more betas planned. In the weeks ahead, Xbox and PC games will also be able to try out the game, not to mention both open and closed betas for pre orders.

Sep 16 – 17: PlayStation Early Access (pre order only)
Sep 18 – 20: PlayStation Open Beta
Sep 22 – 23: Xbox/Steam/battle.net Early Access + PlayStation Open Beta

We don’t know much about what to expect from the beta, but it’s sure to feature a snippet of the games’ classic online game modes.

Activision did fill us in on the rewards that will be available throughout the MW2 beta, including things like animated emblems and new weapon skins. The most interesting is the new weapon blueprint, requiring players to hit level 30 before receiving it.

The post did cause a stir on Reddit, with players wondering what some of the new mystery weapons featured in the image above were. There’s a good chance that the new COD will feature some never-before-seen weapons tech. After all, it is called ‘Modern’ Warfare.
