Best 4K LED TV for Xbox Series X
While the Xbox Series X does support both 1440p and 4K resolutions, the best visual experience will come from a 4K TV. Luckily, most TVs in today’s market offer up 4K screen resolutions – with even the most entry-level of options coming with 4K.
That being said, if you’re looking for a large-screen gaming monitor for both console and PC gaming, you don’t necessarily need to choose a 4K option. Like we just said, Xbox Series X consoles do support 1440p, meaning you’ll be able to get one of the best 1440p monitors and still enjoy an excellent visual performance.
When it comes to choosing the perfect 4K Tv for your Xbox Series X, there are a number of specifications you need to understand. Unlike older models, you can’t just get any old 4K TV anymore and expect high-end gaming performance. Refresh rates, response times, input lag, and VRR should all factor into your decision-making process.
To help make the purchasing process that little bit easier, we’ll be outlining the main performance-affecting specs below – explaining why you should consider them when buying a new TV.
For Xbox Series X gamers, refresh rates should be one of the first specifications you look for when buying a new 4K TV. As we’ve already stated, the Xbox Series X now has the potential to produce 4K gameplay at 120 frames per second. If you want to relish the smoothness that comes hand in hand with that, you’ll want to get a 120Hz TV.
Refresh rate simply refers to the number of times your TV or monitor refreshes its picture per second. If you want the smoothest gameplay possible, match the frame rate of your console to the refresh rate of your TV – you won’t look back.
That leads us nicely into VRR, or variable refresh rate technology. When using a 120Hz refresh rate TV with a console that can produce 120 frames per second, you’ll also want to consider VRR.
This technology synchronizes the refresh rate to the output of your console, delivering incredible smoothness that is hard to beat. It’ll also remove annoying screen artifacts such as screen-tear which can reduce image quality exponentially.

The best 4K TV for Xbox Series X goes to the new LG C2 series – LG’s latest variation of the mid-tier ‘C’ series OLED TV lineup. While this may be more expensive than the still-popular LG C1, we feel it features enough of a performance boost to grant it our top spot.
From a design standpoint, the LG C2 looks truly premium – equipped with the same sleek and stylish design as its predecessor. Again, the new variation is characterized by thin bezels and an ultra-slim profile that has become reminiscent of LG OLED panels. Unlike the G2, however, the C2 features a built in stand that has been transformed from the bulkier variation used in the C1 model into something slightly more bespoke. Despite this being the case, the C2 still offers wall-mounting if desired.
Design aside, it’s in the performance where this TV truly delivers. The C2 features LG’s new Evo OLED panel, allowing it to deliver a 10-20% brightness increase over the C1. Additionally, the latest Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor will be used alongside the company’s WebOS 22 smart platform – improving on AI upscaling, motion handling, and tone-mapping. The C2 also features HGIG too.
Despite these improvements, the C2 still manages to be one of best value for money TVs in today’s market – one of the main reasons why it gets our number one spot.

Next we have another stunning OLED TV from LG. This time it’s the LG G2 – the brand’s flagship ‘gallery’ esque TV. While this TV is one of the more expensive options in this guide, it offers up good value thanks to its stunning picture quality and motion handling.
LG has altered the design for the G2 this year, opting for a cleaner right-angled frame instead of the picture frame look of the G1. Additionally, while the G1 was restricted to wall-mounting only, that’s no longer the case with the G2 – now offering the option to purchase a standalone stand.
From a performance standpoint, it’s hard to knock the G2 when it comes to, well, anything. Not only is it the brightest OLED display LG has designed, it also features a new heat-sink design that aids in higher peak luminance. It does that while providing a more efficient operation that is less likely to run into burn-in. Alongside last year’s features – which include VRR, HDMI 2.1, FreeSync/G-Sync, and [email protected] gameplay – the G2 will now offer up a newly-optimizing Game Menu, HGIG, and the newest Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor.
Take everything into consideration and you have one of the best TVs on the market.
Mini LED LCD (1344 – 2340 zones)
Pros
If you aren’t sold on OLED, fear not, the Samsung QN90A QLED TV is our best LED 4K TV for Xbox Series X. This TV is a high-performance mini-LED TV that features stunning picture quality and HDR performance to boot. Overall, if you’re looking for something a little different than our top two picks, you can’t go wrong with this TV. It features high-end picture quality no matter what content you’re viewing. It also suits Xbox Series X gamers as it supports 4K gameplay @120Hz across a number of different sizes. That said, some of the smaller models don’t offer the same gaming features as the larger options – so be sure to read the specs before diving into a purchase.
Samsung’s impressive QN90A features a number of HDMI 2.1 ports which allow users to hook up their Xbox Series X console alongside other devices simultaneously. Of course, with HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, Xbox Series X users can enjoy the full performance potential of [email protected] Users will also be able to play the latest AAA titles in 4K at 120 FPS – all in stunning HDR. While this TV doesn’t support Dolby Vision, it does feature Samsung’s own HDR10+.
Gaming on this TV feels incredibly responsive thanks to its fast refresh rate and VRR technology (which supports both FreeSync and G-Sync compatible systems). The QN90A also comes equipped with very low input lag which makes gaming feel incredibly responsive. To make things even better, motion blur and perceived blur are both relatively limited here as the QN90A features a low pixel response time.
Best of all, Mini-LED backlight technology has been utilized here, delivering superb FALD – resulting in better HDR performance which is less likely to experience haloing. Furthermore, the TV gets bright enough to enjoy content in bright room conditions, something OLED variants struggle with.
Cons
Don’t fancy splashing out on one of the more expensive options in this guide? Well, fear not, the Hisense U8G is our best budget 4K TV for Xbox Series X and it really does not disappoint. Despite the U8G being the cheapest TV in this guide, don’t let that put you off, it still offers great gaming over 60Hz and 120Hz, respectively.
Unfortunately, and unlike some of the other high-end options in this guide, the Hisense U8G doesn’t come with OLED or Mini-LED backlight technology. Instead, the U8G utilizes a highly efficient 120Hz VA panel that features excellent native contrast ratio and inky blacks. That said, overall picture quality and color accuracy won’t be quite as good as the other TVs on offer.
Having said that, the U8G does offer up FALD (full-array local dimming) that performs equally well in both normal and game modes. This allows the U8G to deliver HDR content to an incredibly high standard. Better yet, even though this set only features HDMI 2.0, it still manages to offer HDMI 2.1 bandwidth – allowing users to reap the rewards of 4K @120Hz gameplay.
All being said, while this isn’t the best TV we’ve ever seen, it’s by no means the worst either. If you really want a quality budget 4K TV, this could be exactly what you’re looking for.
