Atomos has announced the Zato Connect streaming monitor, Atomos’s second fully integrated device in its Connect product range. Zato Connect is a compact, easy-to-use gateway to Atomos Cloud Studio. The device supports ‘nearly all’ HDMI and USB UVC sources to livestream, allowing the user to transform the output from many different video equipment into a livestream or webcam source.
Zato Connect is designed to make livestreaming and video conferencing easier and more accessible. In addition to supporting nearly all HDMI and USB UVC sources, Zato Connect also includes Wi-Fi 5 and Gigabit Ethernet (via a USB-C adapter). You can use Zato Connect to stream to services such as Facebook Live, Twitch, YouTube and other social sites, plus you can use it to improve your web conferencing experience with popular apps like Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Slack.
Zato Connect supports almost any HDMI device up to 1080/60p video or a USB webcam at up to 1080/30p. The device includes a built-in 5-inch touchscreen, which can be used to switch between sources and monitor your outgoing stream. The ‘SuperAtom’ display is Full HD and has maximum brightness of up to 1,000 nits. Zato Connect is compact enough to mount on a camera or place next to your computer or gaming console. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack to add a microphone or line sources.
When livestreaming with the Zato Connect, your stream can be recorded as a local H.265 backup to an SD card. Further, since you can combine recorded source content with live content, you can take a recording and stream it as ‘live’ content. With Zato Connect’s built-in audio mixing capabilities, you can adjust individual channels and mix multiple sources into a single stereo track for a livestream, recording or video presentation.
Zato Connect includes AtomOS Lite, software that allows you to configure streams, switch between sources, record, playback, mix audio or add effects, like overlays, image zooms and frame guides.
Atomos Zato Connect is available to preorder now from authorized retailers for $399. You’ll receive an additional three months of Atomos Cloud Studio subscription and NDI|HX activation for free if you preorder. For more information, visit Atomos.
