AMD Radeon RX 7800 specifications, release date, and price

For another glimpse into the RDNA 3 lineup, we look at what the AMD Radeon RX 7800 has to offer. With the latest on the specifications, release date, and price of the card.

The card is supposed to follow the success and popularity of the RX 6800. The RX 6000 series provides a good alternative as your next best graphics card.

Without any formal announcements on the card, we look towards leaks and rumors. Rounding up what it has to say on the upcoming generation of cards.

Radeon cards do seem to promise an improvement over the previous generation. As well as improving over Nvidia’s offering to provide some strong competition.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 specification rumors

Moving away from the flagship card there are even fewer specs offered to learn about the cards. So there is likely still a lot to change leading up to the announcement of the range.

However, there are still some parts that can be extrapolated and inferred about the GPU.

So with that, we may expect to see the RX 7800 feature a Navi 31/32 chip in it. It will be built upon TSMCs 5 and 6nm process if it does feature an MCM design.

As its unlikely AMD will utilize the multi-chip design across the whole series. With the lower cards possibly still on a monolithic chip.

The RDNA 3 graphics will potentially feature 96 compute units with 9,216 stream processors. Along with 20GB GDDR6 memory across a 320-bit bus.

With a 256MB infinity cache and a gen 5 PCIe slot. Offering much-improved capacity and speeds like we expect to see across the board.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 release date rumors

There are some rumors about the release date of the next card from AMD. The latest prediction suggests that the launch of the RX 7800 is expected between late October and mid-November.

Although this has been around for a while so it is not fully certain if it will be kept to. Especially with the current market situation.

With the prices falling back to normal the manufacturers have found themselves with an overstock of GPUs. And they have been slacking on cutting them down this late on in their life cycle.

But with the miners dumping their stock with the crypto downfall there are plenty of more options. Which does mean they will be wanting to move that stock on before the next release.

So it does mean the next may be pushed back to let the other stock be bought up.

AMD Radeon RX 7800 price speculation

For the next generation of card launches, we look to previous ones to see what to expect for the upcoming prices. The RX 6800 came out with an MSRP of $579.

Whilst that may be the bottom expected price for the next model it is unlikely to stay that low. With cost increases and inflation, we expect an increase in them.

Therefore we expect to see the RX 7800 cost in the range of $500-$600 USD.
