Last Updated:
FIFA 23 is officially announced and we now know a little bit more about the game for certain. There will be two editions of the game this year, a Standard Edition and an Ultimate Edition.
Release date
The Standard Edition of the game is set to release on the 30th of September, while it is unknown yet if the Ultimate Edition will release early like it has in recent years. Traditionally the Ultimate Edition also includes lots of extra content for Ultimate Team, to get you kick-started in the games most popular game mode.
The commentary team in the new game appears to remain the same in the trailer, however Alex Scott seems as though she may be on commentary as well in FIFA 23, instead of just a pitch side reporter like in FIFA 22.
HyperMotion 2 in FIFA 23
We also got our first look at HyperMotion2 in action. From the trailer it looks like a big focus will be the defending, with more realistic crunching tackles playing a big part in the trailer. We also got our first look at the new set pieces being introduced for FIFA 23.

The camera angles were different as well as much more, it’s difficult to say how different this is until we get our hands on the game but for now it certainly looks like a major change. The player can now choose where they strike the ball, how much spin is on the ball and more.
Women’s Teams in FIFA 23
After many weeks of hearing about them we finally got our first look at the Women’s teams that are finally being introduced to the game. It’s still unsure in what capacity they will feature and what game modes the Women’s teams will appear in, but we got to see Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG’s Women’s teams all in action in FIFA 23.
World Cup content confirmed
The FIFA 23 reveal trailer also gave us a tease confirming FIFA 23 will contain content for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar later this year.
It is unclear on what this may be, but supports the rumours that all the international teams taking part in the competition will be in the game. It would also make sense for this to be a major event in Ultimate Team in FIFA 23, especially if this is the last time EA Sports will work with FIFA.
The game is now available to Pre-order on the EA website and if you would like to check out the trailer yourself, you can watch it here.
