Based on the most recent leaks about the impending Sony camera event, the new model that interested Sony fans can look forward to will be a Sony A7R V. So far, there’s little more except a vague announcement page on the Sony U.K website that hints at what’s coming only in the most basic terms.
Aside from the above, the website Sony Alpha Rumors also recently leaked an apparent photo of part of the new camera’s body, showing a rather distinctive texture and color.
Based on what the Alpha Rumors site has revealed, the new AVR V camera has a design that’s in certain minor ways different from that of its predecessor, the excellent A7R IV. It will also have an articulating screen.
The single most important specs for the impending Sony mirrorless camera is that it will feature a huge 61MP sensor with BSI technology for better light-gathering performance.
Aside from the above, it’s also rumored that the A7R V will include a wholly new autofocus system that uses AI deep learning technology in interesting new ways. How this works or if it even turns out to be the case in the first place is something we’ll find out more about tomorrow.
The A7R V is also supposed to feature a new BionZ XR processor, cropped 8K 24p video shooting capacity, 4k60p 4k24p shooting with full read out and a heat sink system that’s similar to the one found in Sony’s superb A7S III model. In the A7R V, this system will let the camera shoot even in 8k for up to 30 minutes without getting too hot.
The Sony A7R V is also supposed to feature S cinetone, 8 stop IBIS AND Pixelshift function with movement detection.
Its pricing and release specs aren’t being revealed quite yet but the camera will go on sale through several major retailers and will probably cost a bit more than its predecessor.
