Season 2 of eFootball launched in June after what was a very difficult launch for the Pro Evolution Soccer rebrand.
The game remains free-to-play although this may be changing going forward, at least partially.

The June update made a series of significant changes to how the game feels and plays.
Improving the passing, and new mechanics as well as ironing out the bugs the game was originally plagued by.
For now, not much more is known for the future of the once great franchise, but if these updates and improvements keep being made they may be able to reclaim some of their old player bases.
So far, we’ve had no official confirmation from Konami on a release date for eFootball 2023. Since the game’s shift to free-to-play came in September of 2021, it would make sense for the eFootball 2023 update to arrive around the same time in 2022.
As of right now, the only real detail that we have on the game at all is the impending release of Master League mode from the original PES series.
eFootball 2023 Game Details
As it stands there is still not a specific release date for Master League, which will most likely be accompanied by a major update to eFootball and the launch of eFootball 2023, but these are all rumors.
Going forward fans will be able to enjoy the much-anticipated return of Master League in eFootball 2023. It’s coming later than fans would have wanted, it’s also set to not be free-to-play unlike the game itself.
It will be fascinating to see how this is priced and if it will remain that way permanently.
The Future of eFootball
Konami, the developer of eFootball, has also been busy securing new exclusivity deals, with Inter Milan signing on from 2024. This is a multi-year deal and will see their stadium and kits will be exclusively in eFootball.

Inter Milan joining the game, sees them build on the previous exclusivity deals signed with Napoli and Atalanta. They will be joining eFootball in time for the 2022/23 season. All three of these teams compete in the Italian Serie A.
More news will follow on eFootball 2023 as it breaks.
