There’s a lot of games releasing in the second half of this year and one particular Game of the Year candidate has caught our eye. That game is Metal: Hellsinger, and we’re here to tell you everything we know about the game.
Metal: Hellsinger looks to take the gore-filled action packed gameplay of modern DOOM, meld it with tracks from some of the best metal artists together and make a game based around killing demons and horrific creatures in time with the music. The current artists list is mouth-watering for any metal fan:
- Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer – Burial at night.
- Bjorn Strid of Soilwork – Dissolution.
- Matt Heafy of Trivium – This Devestation.
- Mikael Stanne of Dark Tranquillity – Through you, this is the end, blood and law.
- Serj Tankian of System of a Down – No Tomorrow.
- Dennis Lyxen of Refused and Invsn – Silent No More.
- Randy Blythe of Lamb of God – Acheron.
- Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy – Stygia.
- James Dorton of Black Crown Initiate & Replacire – Poetry of Cinder.
The game never stops throwing enemies at you and makes sure that you have the tools to take them out too, with a sword, shotgun, skull that fires fireballs and more available at your disposal. The tracks listed above increase in intensity as you rack up your combos, meaning that any mistake could cost you that incredible riff and vocal track that you’ve been listening to until you manage to pump up your score again and not get hit. There’s actually currently a demo available right now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5 and Steam for Metal: Hellsinger, so if you’re intrigued by anything we say in this article you can take a look for yourself.
As we stated in our preview of the game:
“Metal: Hellsinger is an INCREDIBLY fun time, one that had me grinning from ear to ear, and if the level of fun presented in these early levels continues throughout the entire core game then this could be a Game Of The Year contender, and weirdly one of the best metal albums of the year. Everything within the game meshes together to create a great experience that’ll have you coming back for more, just to try and see if you can beat your previous high-score and make yourself the ultimate lord of hell.”
When Is The Game Releasing & On What Platforms?
Metal: Hellsinger is currently slated for release September 15th 2022 and will release across next-generation consoles and PC. This means that you cannot play the title on Xbox One and PS4, but can play it on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5 and PC via the Steam store later this year. Get ready to rock on and blow some demons away!
