Street Fighter 6 has been officially confirmed by Capcom, and as of the recent presentation season we now know a whole hell of a lot more about the game. We’re here to break down the modes in the game, the setting and the leaked roster, before discussing when the game is releasing and the platforms that it’ll be releasing on. So join us on this journey, this world tour if you will, as we take a dive into Street Fighter 6.
Street Fighter 6 Game Modes
So Street Fighter 6 will have three different game modes. You’ve got the usual Fighting Ground game mode that consists of local/online versus battles, in addition to having training and arcade modes for you to perfect your fighting skills within before taking them to the competitive scene. World Tour however is a single-player story mode that will allow you to customize your avatar before exploring the world of Street Fighter 6. You’ll run into familiar faces from the Street Fighter series and be able to face off against them in a story that is set after the events of the third game in the series. Battle Hub is something we don’t know a whole lot about as of right now, but we do know that it’s an online lobby mode that will have more features to be revealed as we approach the release of the game.
Online players will be extremely pleased to hear that Street Fighter 6 will support cross-platform play and rollback netcode. The cross-platform play especially could lead to Street Fighter 6 taking over as the dominant fighting game on the competitive scene, and could see it becoming a main staple of the scene for years to come if it’s done right. The game will even have an in-game commentary feature, which is something that Street Fighter has never done before as a series and something that could become extremely fun if done right, but extremely annoying if done wrong.
A Leaked Roster
So while we don’t yet have an official roster for Street Fighter 6, there was a huge leak that revealed all of the returning characters for Street Fighter 6, in addition to the brand new characters that are coming to Street Fighter 6.

Then there’s seven brand new characters that are being introduced through Street Fighter 6. These characters are:

- Mimi
- Lilly

- Aki
Street Fighter 6 Release Date & Platforms
Street Fighter 6 is currently slated for release in 2023. The game will release on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/ Xbox Series S. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not the game being developed for last generation systems in tandem with current generation systems will affect the quality of the game at all, or if they’ve managed to avoid that pitfall.
