Litepanels has expanded its Gemini Hard product line with the addition of the new Gemini 2×1 Hard RGBWW LED panel. Like the Gemini 1×1 Hard, the Gemini 2×1 Hard boasts being the brightest at its size, offering 23,000 lux in daylight mode at a distance of 10ft with a 20° undiffused beam angle. As an RGBWW light, it offers full-colour gamut mixing, with the usual CCT, HSI and XY control modes. The white light mode offers plus/minus green colour correction and has a temperature range of 2700K up to 10000K, and you vet 0.1-100% dimming that’s completely flicker-free at all shutter speeds.
Each unit weighs 11.5kg including the yoke and integrated power supply with a maximum draw of only 500W. Despite being only twice the size of its 1×1 sibling, the Gemini 2×1 Hard puts out a whopping seven times as much light. Its 20° undiffused beam angle gives you 23,000 lux and you get a 100° angle when using the diffuser for a wider spread. Or you can blast them through silks to create some nice big powerful soft light.

The light has no external ballast, having the power supply built into the light directly – and it can be powered from either 100-240v AC or 26-33v DC. This offers obvious benefits on-set as you don’t have extra bricks hanging down from your lights that people can trip over and it’s one less thing to worry about accidentally unplugging itself in use.
For the launch of the new Gemini 2×1 Hard RGBWWW LED panel, Litepanels put together a short film lit entirely by the new lights, along with a behind the scenes video showing some of how it was made.
Naturally, being Litepanels LED panels, these aren’t inexpensive lights. They’re not the kind of thing one buys on a whim. And if you thought the Gemini 1×1 Hard panels were expensive, you ain’t seen nothing yet. The individual Gemini 2×1 Hard is available to pre-order now in the standard yoke kit for $5,985. You’ll have to pay slightly more for the pole yoke version at $6,840. And if one isn’t enough for you, you can get a dual-light array for $12,065 or even a quad-light array for a whopping $23,560.
