Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild ‘2‘ finally has a real and official title: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. And after many many years of waiting, fans can finally expect a Tears of the Kingdom release date. It’s not often Zelda games get direct sequels, usually, they are their own stand-alone stories in the Hyrulian world, but after the immense popularity of Breath of the Wild, it’s no surprise that this version of Link, Zelda and Ganondorf’s story will continue.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom trailer

Released on September 13th, as part of Nintendo Direct, Nintendo finally announced the long-awaited release of the Breath of the Wild sequel, now officially titled: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom platforms

The next question you might have is what platforms will Tears of the Kingdom be available on? Well as with most Nintendo games, it’s going to be a Switch exclusive. So, if you’ve not already got a Switch, now might be the time to invest in one if you’re especially excited for the new Zelda game.

If you’ve yet to play Breath of the Wild, now might be the perfect time to ahead of its sequel’s release, considering Breath of the Wild is a very dense and long game, clocking in at around 50 hours, and that’s just if you follow the main story. Breath of the Wild is one of the most dense and immersive open world games currently out there, you’ll be sure to lose many hours there whilst you wait for Tears of the Kingdom.

In the meantime, whilst you wait, why not try your hand at one of the greatest ‘Zelda’ games out there which – ironically – is not even a Zelda title?
