It seems like the $50 price reductions predicted by Trendforce as reported by Forbes, weren’t to be, but at least we didn’t see any price increase and now we have a new iPhone 14 Plus variant – giving more options for those who want a bit more punch than the standard iPhone 14, but don’t fancy splashing out on the iPhone 14 Pro.

Do iPhone prices drop when a new one is released?
Yes. iPhone prices on the previous year’s models do usually drop in price when a new one is released. It’s very likely that you will no longer be able to buy brand new iPhone 11 phones after the iPhone 14 is released. Apple tend to drop older phone models after a couple of years to prevent them from eating into the sales of the newer versions. You will still be able to buy the phone from some online retailers second hand or refurbished though.

As discussed, the starting price for the normal iPhone 14 (i.e. the standard variant) is $799.
How much will the iPhone 13 Pro Max be when the iPhone 14 comes out?
Following the release of the new iPhone 14 line, all iPhone 13 variants will probably drop in price by around $100. This means you can expect the iPhone 13 Pro Max price to drop to around $1,000 (for the 128GB version).
