Mark Ruffalo gave a hat tip to former Bruce Banner Edward Norton in the second episode of Marvel’s She-Hulk series.
In the series, the current Hulk talked about becoming an entirely new person following the character’s fight with Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky, who is looking to be represented by Bruce’s cousin Jennifer aka She-Hulk. The battle between Blonsky and Banner took place during the events of The Incredible Hulk, which starred Norton as the angry green rage monster.
Following the casting change during the early 2010s, Ruffalo has been the man behind the Hulk. From his days as all-smashing character in The Avengers to now as a smart and calmer version living in the beaches, Ruffalo has seen the character change a lot.
In an interview with EW, he talked about how the character has changed a lot to the point where he considers the MCU hero to be his generation’s Hamlet, where actors like Norton and many others can portray him in the future.
The actor has further stated that he doesn’t mind his role being taken over by someone else in the MCU. Furthermore, he wants actors to portray the more crazier versions of the character with adaptations like ‘World War Hulk‘ or ‘Berserker Hulk’, which fans have seen in previous films.
At the moment, it doesn’t seem like a solo Hulk project is on the cards. However, MCU fans would definitely want to see Ruffalo showcase his acting chops, as he fights off the inner Hulk.
